WANA (Feb 22) – Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp has revealed that he held talks with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi regarding developments in the Middle East and a potential new nuclear agreement.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Veldkamp stated, “We also discussed Iran’s nuclear program and the window of opportunity for a new nuclear agreement.”

Additionally, the two diplomats addressed the issue of the disputed Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb islands.

Woldkamp emphasized that the Netherlands has consistently supported a friendly and peaceful resolution to the ongoing territorial dispute between Iran and the United Arab Emirates, advocating for a bilateral dialogue grounded in international law.

These remarks come as Iran has repeatedly asserted that the three islands are an inseparable part of its territory.
